About us
Founded in 1950 as a specialist organisation for comparative law, the Gesellschaft für Rechtsvergleichung continues the tradition of the Internationale Vereinigung für Vergleichende Rechtswissenschaft und Volkswirtschaftslehre, which was founded in Berlin in 1894 and ceased its work after 1933. The fields of activity are foreign law studies and European Law, ethnological and historical legal research, applied comparative law, international cooperation in the legal system and international legal harmonisation. The Gesellschaft für Rechtsvergleichung promotes these areas by stimulating and supporting research work and publications, by organising scientific conferences, by maintaining contact with lawyers and legal organisations abroad and by stimulating and supporting legal study stays abroad.

- Labour and Social Law
Membership
Our annual membership fee currently amounts to
- 50 € for full members
- 25 € for young lawyers (sect. 9 para. 2 of statutes)
- 130 € for corporate members
